As a distinguished soloist and chamber musician, Jeong Yun Yang's artistry has graced esteemed stages across the globe, enchanting audiences at renowned venues in the United States, France, Puerto Rico, and South Korea. She holds a Doctor of Music degree from Florida State University, Master of Music degrees from the University of Michigan and Ewha Womens University, and a Bachelor of Music degree from Ewha Women's University.
In recognition of her exceptional prowess, Dr. Yang has gained acclaim on international stages. She has triumphed in esteemed competitions, securing prestigious honors at events such as American Protégé Music Competition, Florida Keys International Music Competition, Chopin Avenue International Piano Competition, Charleston International Music Competition, Royal Sound Music Competition in Montreal, and Ars Nova Competition in South Korea. Her artistry has been acknowledged and celebrated, leading to her performances at the Carnegie Hall in 2022 and 2023, and a nomination as a Steinway Young Artist at the Steinway Society of Puerto Rico in 2019.
Beyond the solo spotlight, she is an active chamber musician. A recent highlight includes a duo recital with cellist Amber Den Exter, themed around "celebrating women's voices." Driven by a mission to bring neglected repertoire to concert halls, she strives to make music more accessible.
As a researcher, her intellectual contributions were expressed in publications, including a treatise on "Selected Works by Robert Chumbley and Lera Auerbach" (D.M. treatise, Florida State University) and a thesis exploring "The Autobiographical Meaning of Amy Beach's 'Tragic Romance'" (M.M. thesis, Ewha Womens University).
